Movin’ On
Well, I must apologize for the fact that I’ve completely left the blogging world for so long. I honestly got so wrapped up in it that I just had to take a break… and a long one at that. I really needed to get the balance back into my life and focus on a few other areas of my life. To any of you who are still visiting, I want to say thank you! I’ve truly missed you guys, or should I say gals!
I’ve missed the support that I found in the blogging world and how it kept me on track with my workouts. Honestly, ever since I stopped blogging, my “healthy lifestyle” has completely gone downhill. I haven’t been running and I’ve gotten so lazy recently. My running has seriously taken a turn for the worse. I’m almost ashamed to say that I have run only about 3 times in the past month and a half! And those few times were definitely a struggle!
I’m really excited to get back into the blogging world though. I think I’ve finally been able to find a balance between my home life and my blogging life – spending adequate amounts of time doing all of the things I love.
So, without further ado, I’d like to introduce my new blog: A Dove’s Life.
It’s going to be more of a general “life” blog, rather than a “healthy lifestlye” type blog. Because, if I’m honest with myself (and with you all) I don’t have that much to write about if I focus solely on healthy living. So, my new blog will include anything and everything I want to share – from recipes and running to my home life and my new interest in crafting/sewing. I just received a new sewing machine as a graduation gift and I’m super excited to get into the sewing world!
So I hope you all will join me on my new blog! I’m so excited to catch up on what everyone has been up to!
Thar she blows!
Boy is it windy!! I can’t remember the last time it was this windy here! I almost got blown away walking to class today!! Haha!
Today, I’ve been a busy little bee! I woke up at 6:45am and was at the laundromat by 8:00 sharp! I made a quick pit stop at Starbucks for a lil coffee!
Then spent about an hour and a half waiting for the laundry to finish. I majorly dislike laundromats, but unless I want to wash all our clothes by hand, I’ll be visiting them weekly for the next few months! Boo!

Then I had class at 11am and met up with the boy at Costco.
This picture isn’t from today, but isn’t he handsome!
I love going to Costco! So many things to look at, not to mention free samples! Yum!
We picked up a few things, mainly fruit and some snacks. And of course tons of water! Can’t do without that!
After we left Costco I came home and went for my run. Boy was that tough! Today, my program had me running for 6 minutes with a 5 minute walking break in between. Add the wind into the equation, and that was probably the toughest run I’ve done yet! But, I did it, and didn’t quit!
One thing I’ve learned from today’s experience is that I don’t like running in windy conditions! It could be worse though… running in the rain would suck more than running in the wind!
My post-run snack included some yummy goodness!

At first I was a bit hesitant to try Larabars because I wasn’t sure what they would taste like. But they’re actually pretty good! If you haven’t tried one, I highly recommend that you go out and get one right now! Seriously, go, now!
This is why I love Larabars:

It’s pretty rare in today’s market to find something packaged with so few ingredients!

On another note, I’ve decided to start making weekly mini-goals! I really believe this blog has kept me accountable as far as my running program is concerned. So why not take it a step further and use it to set other goals!
So, this week my mini-goals are:
- Eat at least two servings of fruit per day.
- Drink at least 60 oz. of water per day.
- Spend time reading my Bible each day.
Honestly, I don’t eat enough fruits and veggies or drink enough water! Hopefully this will keep me a bit more accountable!
What’s one goal you’d like to accomplish this week?
Would you rather run a marathon in rainy or windy conditions?
